Ten Fun Facts

The other day, the lovely ladies at Kiss and Tell Reviews let me take over their Facebook page for the day. I wanted to come up with something fun to post that no one had seen before, so I wrote five fun facts about myself. Then I wrote five fun facts about myself as an author. So here you go... TEN FUN FACTS all about Author Lisa Suzanne. XOXO

Five Facts about Lisa Suzanne – the person

1. I have been married for eight years. We don’t have any kids but we do have a yellow lab named Sadie. (She’s the best dog ever.)
2. I love being creative. I scrapbook, I make jewelry, and I write romance novels. (The scrapbooking and the jewelry have been on hold since I published book 1, though.)
3. I have dark blonde hair and blue eyes, and I’m 5’8” tall. I live in Arizona but I grew up in Illinois.
4. I have taught high school English for twelve years (which is why my books are published under a pen name).
5. My favorite TV show is New Girl, my favorite movie is The Hangover, my favorite book is Fifty Shades of Grey, my favorite color is orange, and I have two favorite bands: Maroon 5 and Matchbox Twenty (I can’t pick just one).

Five Facts about Lisa Suzanne – the author

1. I started really enjoying writing when I was in high school. I never thought anybody would read my books because I was always too shy to share them with anybody. I kept writing anyway because I enjoyed it, but it felt like such a waste of time – I would spend three or more hours a day after work just writing. I never shared my writing with anybody, and then one day I decided to share it with my husband. He’s the one who convinced me to try self-publishing.
2. All of my books are around 90,000 words before I start editing. I don’t know how, but this has happened at least four times (and this also means that I have at least two books completely written and currently unedited/unpublished).
3. I wrote WHAT HE REALLY FEELS in under a month this past summer (from about June 24-July 20). I’m working on Book 3 in the He Feels trilogy now, but it’s not going as fast (probably because I’m back to work… or maybe because I’m having a hard time concluding the stories of Jules, Nick, and Trav!).
4. Only five people in my life know my pen name (my husband, my mom, my brother, my sister-in-law, and my best friend). I kept it a secret initially because I was really shy to share my work, but I now it’s because I teach in a super conservative district. If I sell about sixty books a day, I can quit my day job and write full time.
5. I set up a Facebook account under my pen name so I could create my Author Lisa Suzanne page, and I only have three friends on my account – all are people I’ve met through the amazing world of self-publishing. Feel free to friend me – Lisa Suzanne. :)

  1. I hope you sell 600 books a day. I hope you get to use your real name some day, if you want to. I think it is brave to follow your dreams and love to see when someone does it.
