So What's Different?
In a word, everything.
Everything’s different. When I decided to bring Reese &
Co. from the midst of 2012 to the present, I also changed their location. The
original series took place in Mexico, and in fact, I wrote a song titled “In
Mexico” for the series. Click here
to read the original prologue with the lyrics.
The story began with three ladies going to Mexico on a
summer vacation, and they moved in right next door to three men who were also
there for the summer. The story was told in third person, and Brian swept Reese
off her feet immediately. It was insta-love at its finest, but it made sense
because they spend day in and day out together. Mark Ashton wasn’t introduced
until the second book, and it took Reese all of a couple days to give into the
temptation he presented her while Brian was out of town on business.
Here are a few other major differences:
Tess was Eva, but when a popular book came out with Gideon
and Eva, Eva’s name was changed to Tess.
Jason was Mitch. I don’t know why I picked Mitch and I don’t
know why I changed it to Jason.
The secondary characters played a larger role in the
original, mostly because the very first version was told in third person. Jill
and Becker hooked up and Tess and Jason hooked up. Tess was a little
promiscuous and slept with the brother of their next-door neighbor. Becker
slept with one of the girls in the neighboring house. That led a broken-hearted
Jill right into the arms of Jason... and all sorts of drama ensued from there.
Maybe I’ll still write that story under different characters someday... 😊
